Hong
Xian Nv (1927~), was born in the West of, Guangzhou, her original name was
Kuangjianlian. at the age of 13, she started studying opera from her aunt,
beginning with "little red" as her stage name go on stage. in
1942 she joined Mashiceng's opera house, then gradually become
famous.
in January
1946, her "I am crazy for you" shaked Hongkong for over one
month.
In 1947, "I am crazy for you"
was made into film, from then on, she filmed in over 70 films totally.
In 1955, she performed in the sixth
anniversary of the National Day, and being interviewed by Premier Zhou
Enlai. at the end of 1955, she joined Guangdong Cantonese Opera
Troupe.
in 1957 she attended the sixth World
Youth and Student Peace&Friendship Festival and she won the classical
music gold award with the clip of " The Departure of Zhaojun"
and "Praising Leechi".
From 1967
to 1980 years, she was sent to Yinde Tea plantation laboring for the
unfair treatment subjected by "4 gangs".
in 1984 her solo concert was held in
Zhongshan Memorial Hall in Guangzhou. she was deeply favored by all
the audience.
in 1990 she was apponited as artistic
director and head of the Red Cantonese Opera Troupe.
In 2002 she won "art
performance form and studying Achievement Award" issued by the
State Ministry of Culture
